Pierre Sparaco is Aviation Week and Space Technology’s France-based columnist. Previously, he was the magazine’s European Editor, Paris Bureau Chief and European Bureau chief. He also writes stories and commentary pieces for several French publications such as Aerobuzz.fr.
He is a member of the French Academie de l’Air et de l’Espace and heads the academy’s section devoted to literature, history and arts. Over the years, he was awarded multiple distinctions such as Aero-Club de France’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the Royal Aeronautical Society’s Decade of Excellence Award and the U.S. Lyman Award for excellence is aerospace journalism.
Pierre has published 20 books, including Airbus, The True Story, Concorde (winner of the Guynemer Prize), The A400M, a European Saga, and an autobiography. Right now, he is writing a biography of Andre Turcat, the celebrated French test pilot who was in the left seat for Concorde’s maiden flight.
