David was appointed Vice President Western Europe Middle East Africa in August 2013 reporting to the Senior Vice President Distribution.
In this role, David leads Amadeus’ distribution business in the region, including strategic planning, sales, marketing, business development and partnerships, product management, and customer support for Amadeus' travel agency, travel supplier, corporate and leisure customers in the region.
Prior to his appointment David was Head of Distribution Marketing since October 2011 where he was responsible for Amadeus’ distribution proposition which included establishing the commercial strategy to airlines, cars, cruise and other provider customers and the marketing strategy for subscriber customers.
David Joined Amadeus in 1999 as Market Manager in the Western European Region and was appointed Director Western Europe in 2003. During this period David worked with the M&A team to negotiate and finalize the purchase of the major European national marketing companies, SMART (Amadeus Scandinavia), START Amadeus (Amadeus Germany), and Amadeus France.
Since 2004 David held several leadership positions managing Airline Customers as Director Airline Marketing and Sales, Director Airline Distribution and Low Cost Carriers and Director of Airline and Travel Agency Distribution. In these positions David led the evolution of the Amadeus GDS proposition for Airlines with the introduction and implementation of Value-Based Pricing, the introduction and negotiation of content agreements and the evolution and launch of Amadeus Ticketless Access for low cost carriers.
Prior to joining Amadeus, David worked in sales consultancy in Spain and sports goods distribution in France. David is a graduate in Psychology, Economics and History of Art from Leicester University in the United Kingdom and holds an MBA from IEDE in Spain.
