Brian Barrow spent several decades in the commercial area of IATA where he helped design, test, implement and subsequently direct, worldwide, the operation of the IATA Passenger and Cargo Agency Programmes and their concomitant settlement systems, BSP and CASS. He also led the IATA side in the development of APG’s pioneer IBCS product. Following the IATA spell, he ran the International Airline Training Fund, the Federation of Airline GSSAs, FEDAGSA, and was Travel Agency Commissioner for many years.
Innovation has always attracted his keen interest, particularly when brought about by interaction between not so obvious partners. The lyric ‘The Farmer and the Cowman should be Friends’ from the musical comedy Oklahoma! could be his motto.
