Franck Goldnadel was born on 14 August 1969. He holds a degree in engineering from the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC, French National School of Civil Aviation). He is married with three children. He is a Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite (Knight of the French National Order of Merit). In March 2011, he was appointed Managing Director of Paris-Charles Gaulle Airport. He is in charge of all services concerning the airport authority: passenger and airline reception, security checks (acting on behalf of the French State), provision of facilities for operators on the airport site, management of access and parking areas, cargo, building and infrastructure maintenance, supply of energy and fluids, environmental management, business development, etc. These activities employ a workforce of over 3,650 employees and numerous subcontractors. The annual turnover is 1.6 billion euros and annual investments amount to around 250 million euros on average. Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport is the 7th busiest airport in the world for passenger traffi c and the busiest European airport for cargo traffic. The site occupies an area of over 3,000 hectares, on which close to 85,000 people work.
